Rockstar North is seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to join our Core Security team, both as someone who can lead a talented and diverse team of developers and as an individual contributor. The successful candidate will be working on bleeding edge technology with an internationally established team, while being collaborative, driven, and exemplifying excellent communication skills. We are looking for someone who is eager for new challenges and ready to continue our legacy of creating the greatest games in the world. This is a full-time, permanent and in-office position based in Rockstars state-of-the-art game development studio in Edinburgh, Scotland.
WHAT WE DO

We create and maintain high-impact features for Grand Theft Auto Online, Red Dead Online, the Rockstar Games Launcher, legacy, and upcoming titles.
The Core Security team is responsible for designing, implementing, and delivering our anti-cheat and anti-piracy technology., Lead a team of software engineers to build and maintain products utilizing C++ and .NET.
Work hands-on with engineers to deliver solutions.
Define objectives and key results for the Core Security team, devise plans to meet the objectives, and communicate those via roadmaps to technical leadership.
Collaborate with Product Management and Production team members to define scope and requirements, and schedule future team projects.
Collaborate with teams from other disciplines to integrate systems into the wider architecture.
Demonstrate expert technical knowledge that can be used to guide and mentor the Core Security team to solve complex problems.
Conduct performance reviews for the Core Security team engineering members, including regular check-ins to assess progress and re-align where necessary.

Minimum of 8 years of professional engineering experience.
Minimum of 3 years leading an engineering team.
A degree in computer science or equivalent.
Excellent communication skills as a core member of an internationally based team, with a proven ability to develop and maintain good relations and communicate with team members at all levels.
A strong sense of ownership, with a proactive nature, and a drive to accomplish objectives and drive a team to success., Previous leadership and managerial experience.
Expert in C++ development building highly performant and lean code.
Experience with shared code and use of source control platforms.
Knowledge of Agile software development processes., Experience with x64-assembly.
CheatEngine.
Knowledge of Rockstars game titles and a passion for playing video games.
