Full Job Description
We have two exciting opportunities within our Workforce, Education and Standards Directorate. The roles sit within the Qualifications and Standards Team and will require working closely with a range of external partners and internally with key staff to progress the work of regulation, qualifications and standards.
The successful applicant will have extensive knowledge and experience of the social services sector, NOS and how SVQ qualifications are structured, assessed and verified. You will have a proven working knowledge of how other qualifications are structured in Scotland and in the rest of the UK. You will also have a working knowledge of awarding bodies and the Scottish Credit Qualification Framework. You will have exceptional skills in carrying out research, writing and developing qualifications and paying attention to detail.
An understanding of our registration structure and associated benchmark qualifications are also essential to ensure developments remain appropriate for the level of skills and knowledge required within the sector.
The role will require extensive internal and external engagement and consultation, and you will therefore ideally be experienced in engaging and collaborating with stakeholders, both internally and externally, to gather information and analyse that information accordingly.
You will also need to have a good knowledge and understanding of national policy and initiatives and what they mean for the social services workforce, including The Promise., We are looking for exceptional and versatile individuals who thrive on challenge and who are motivated to influence and support national change. You will be skilled in adapting your working style to accommodate the need to change direction and to move into a wide range of work areas, swiftly but effectively.
We are the independent regulator for social service workers in Scotland. Our work means the people of Scotland can count on social work, social care and children and young people services being provided by a trusted, skilled and confident workforce.
We are an ambitious, enthusiastic and supportive organisation. With around 300 employees, you can really make an impact here. We offer a generous salary, flexible working arrangements, a full range of benefits, local government pension scheme and up to 43 days holiday (dependent on service).
You can find out more about the benefits of working here on our website.
Our office is in Dundee, and we have an agile working policy that supports office and remote working arrangements, depending on the requirements of each job, which we are happy to discuss with candidates. All staff are required to attend the office at times for meetings, training and staff events.
