Full Job Description

Lecturer in Marketing

Grade 7 £37,099 - £44,263

Full Time, Permanent

Abertay is a modern university with a global outlook, rooted in its local and national communities. We have made our mark with high quality, well-directed teaching and research, and a stimulating and enriching experience for our students. In 2021 Abertay was named in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide as The University of the Year for Teaching Quality.

The University is looking to appoint a lecturer who can contribute to the delivery of its professionally accredited undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the area of marketing. Ideally, with specialism in digital marketing, the successful candidate should also be able to contribute to the other programmes in the Division.

Within the School of Business, Law and Social Sciences, the Division of Accounting, Business and Management (ABM), in which the post will be located, delivers a broad suite of programmes in accounting and finance, marketing and business with specialist pathways in events management, business analytics and people management. We also host many PhD students and run a suit of very successful CPD offerings. We are highly connected to business, commercial and industrial organizations; and all our delivery is focussed towards producing employable, professional and work-ready graduates. We believe this is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to contribute to the further development of the Division.

Reporting to the Head of Division of ABM you will provide teaching input to undergraduate and postgraduate students while taking active role in sustaining the growth of a research culture within the university through your own research and by mentoring others.

The role requires excellent organisational, team working and communication skills, the ability to develop and lead research projects, a commitment to teaching and the ability to work across disciplines.

The closing date for this post is 16th July 2024 with interviews expected to take place during the week of 29th July 2024.

If you believe you have the skills and experience for this exciting and challenging role, please submit your application through our online recruitment system.
