Full Job Description

Role: Legal Counsel
Location: Glasgow or Edinburgh
Salary: Highly Competitive
Position: Permanent / Hybrid

About the Role
Iconic Resourcing is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join a thriving in-house team, supporting one of Scotland’s leading organisations in professional services. This is a permanent, full-time role ideal for a commercially driven solicitor with experience in either financial services, pensions, or professional services.

As Legal Counsel, you’ll work alongside business units to draft, review, and negotiate contracts across various client services. You’ll act as an internal advisor, engaging directly with consultants, including senior partners, on commercial contracts, master service agreements, data protection, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted, practical legal advice across professional services, actuarial, consulting, insurance, and third-party administration.
  • Draft and negotiate a diverse range of commercial contracts, including NDAs, licences, client agreements, and data services agreements.
  • Create and refine best practice notes, policies, and templates, and assist in training.
  • Support client-based projects, from inception to finalisation, with sound legal advice.
  • Positively contribute to the Legal team’s key objectives.

About You

  • Qualified Solicitor in Scotland or England
  • Substantial experience in commercial contract negotiation, ideally within an FCA-regulated environment or a financial services setting.
  • Pragmatic, confident, and solutions-oriented, capable of working independently and managing deadlines effectively.
  • Exposure to pensions or financial services and a good knowledge of IT systems (like SharePoint or Dynamics 365) would be advantageous.
  • Ability to collaborate with both stakeholders and the wider legal team.

Perks of the Role
This role offers a flexible benefits package, a profit share scheme, access to wellness support, professional development opportunities, and generous paid leave, including time off for volunteering and personal celebrations.
