Conveyancing & Private Client Legal Secretary

Ayr

24,000 - 28,000 annually (depending on experience)

Full time, Monday-Friday

Reporting to Head of Residential Property

Are you looking for a new legal secretary role in conveyancing?

Reed is currently working with an exciting and dynamic law firm based in Ayr, who are looking for a Conveyancing and Private Client Legal Secretaries.

Ideally, we are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated legal professional with experience in either/or residential conveyancing and private client law, that can strengthen the team and provide secretarial support to fee earners.

The responsibilities of the role will be:

  • Providing support to fee earners in the conveyancing/private client department.
  • Completing LBTT returns.
  • Producing conveyancing documentation like offers, missives, dispositions, discharges etc.
  • Drafting wills, powers of attorney, guardianships etc.
  • Audio and copy typing documents and drafting legal documents.
  • Liaising with clients over the phone and in person, taking details and arranging meetings with them when required.
  • Using case management system to support the preparation of documents and letters.
  • Meeting and greeting clients at the office.
  • Completing general office admin work.

To succeed in the role, you must:

  • Have previous experience as a legal secretary (or in supportive legal roles).
  • Have a good working knowledge of residential or commercial conveyancing, or private client law.
  • Be proficient at audio and copy typing.
  • Have experience drafting legal documents.
  • Be familiar with case management software e.g., Denovo.
  • Be warm and approachable to colleagues and clients at all times.
  • Have excellent organisational skills with good attention to detail.
  • Have strong general administrative skills.
  • Enjoy working as part of a busy team.
