£14,553.70 - £15,288.66
Castle Douglas High School are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for books and reading to join our team as Library Assistant for 25 hours per week, 38 weeks per year.
You must have good literacy, numeracy, computer and communication skills as well as the ability to relate to a range of staff and young people. You must have a pleasant manner and have a flexible attitude.
Duties will include:
Managing and organising the library resources to allow for curricular activities, study, independent and recreational use.
Maintaining pupil and staff resources.
Supporting literacy in the promotion of reading enjoyment.
A broad range of tasks to support pupils and teachers in accessing library resources.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
