35 hours per week, Monday - Friday
Permanent
£26,666 - £27,232 / £27,853 - £28,455
£14.61 - £14.92 / £15.26 - £15.59 per hour
The above amounts include Distant Islands Allowance

The Lifestyles Service is located in Kirkwall with bases at the Pickaquoy Centre and St.Colms, providing person centred day services and opportunities for adults with a range of learning disabilities.

We are seeking to recruit someone who is highly motivated towards providing high quality services to adults with learning disabilities attending the Lifestyles Service.

The Lifestyles Assistant will deliver a high standard of person centred, flexible and responsive support, working in partnership with the individual, promoting individuals rights.

The successful applicant will assist in supporting and maximising individuals' independence, abilities and skills in a wide range of vocational, social, leisure and community settings, both on an individual or group basis to achieve the individual's identified goals from reviews and support plans.

A key part of the role is establishing, developing and maintaining effective and professional relationships with service users, carers, staff and other service providers.
Assisting with individuals' various personal care requirements whilst in the Lifestyles Services or community as required.

You will receive support and guidance from the Lifestyles Co-Ordinators, Senior Lifestyles Co-Ordinator or Registered Manager and be expected to adhere to the Health and Social Care Standards and the SSSC codes of practice for Social Service Workers.

To be appointed at Grade D:
You must hold a good general standard of education including numeracy and literacy and achieve a SVQ2 in Social Services and Health care within 5 years of appointment.

To be appointed at/Progression to Grade E:
You will hold an SVQ2 in Social Services and Health Care or equivalent.
