Fixed Term (1 Year) Locum Specialty Doctor in Urology

University Hospital Monklands

We are looking to appoint two Fixed term locum Speciality Doctor with duties across NHS Lanarkshire. The post holder will participate in the middle grade on call rota. This is a general Urology post, with the potential to develop a subspecialist interest. The post holder will be assisting Urology consultants in outpatients and theatre, and running independent outpatient clinics and scope lists, depending on their skills and experience.

The duties will include the routine care of ward patients and the supervision of Junior Medical Staff in the inpatient site.  The successful candidate is required to assist the Consultants in theatre.  They will also have the opportunity to operate in the day surgery unit and main theatre with the appropriate supervision that is required.  The successful candidate will also be required to lead independent haematuria clinics, outpatient/virtual clinics, flexible cystoscopy and other activities in line with successful candidates specialist interest and service requirements. Successful candidate will contribute to Urology Registrar Rota for out of hours and weekend cover.

The successful applicants will join an existing team of 9 consultants, Associate Specialist, Specialty Doctors, Clinical Development Fellows and STs on the West of Scotland Training Scheme.
