Reed is working with an Edinburgh based client of ours that are on the hunt for a Logistics and Rental Fleet Manager. This is an opportunity for a dedicated and skilled Logistics & Fleet Rental Manager and is ideal for someone with a strong background in freight forwarding & inventory management, with a willingness to expand their expertise into logistics.

Duties within the role-

• Oversee the daily operations of the rental fleet, ensuring all equipment is well-maintained and ready for re-hire.
• Manage yard health and safety and conduct training for yard staff.
• Handle the loading and unloading of shipping containers.
• Manage the return, inspection, and maintenance of the rental fleet.
• Conduct quarterly stock takes and assist in the development of new systems to support company growth.
• Coordinate activities of the yard team and provide backup support for the Logistics Manager.
• Issue Certificates of Conformity and manage bookings for UK and international air freight and sea freight shipping.

Required Skills & Qualifications-

Proven experience in inventory management, particularly with bulk items.

• Proven experience in inventory management, particularly with bulk items.
• Experience in handling large quantities of heavy equipment is highly advantageous.
• Proven experience in freight forwarding
• Experience in national and international shipping
• Fleet management experience is desired
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team positively.
• Excellent organisational skills and a keen attention to detail.
