Full Job Description

At our Lockerbie site we have created a permanent vacancy within manufacturing . we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of contractor compliance PTW and LOTO coordinator. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that all people on site comply with the permit to work (PTW) and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all involved parties. The coordinator will oversee contractor activities, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, proper execution of PTW and LOTO processes, and effective communication among all stakeholders.   • Co-ordinating work permit activities relating to planned maintenance, emergency work and project activities in the area.
  • Execution: assist, approving and issuing RAMS,PTW, Work at Height, breaking into lines ,LV voltage, Hot Work, asbestos and Confined Space Entry permits.
  • Able to role out training on global policies, PTW,LOTO etc
  • Participating in the permit planning process for maintenance and project activities.
  • Co-ordinating the execution of all preparatory work by operations (e.g. LOTO), required for efficient and safe handover of the installation to maintenance or projects.
  • Ownership of padlocks, spades, gas monitors and other equipment required as part of the permit to work in line with site SOPs
  • Set high standards in Safety Culture & Housekeeping: Directing and coaching staff and contractors on safe working practices related to permitted work.
  • Subject matter expert for Arla relating to permitted tasks.
  • Championing compliance with site procedures relating to all permitted activities.
  • Doing regular field visits, audits and spot checks
  • Execute and assist with preparations for planned maintenance outages.
  • Completing and supporting with the preparation and approvals of isolation check sheets, and supporting documents.
  • Ensuring an effective permit hand back process is maintained.
  • Ensuring permit documentation standards are upheld.
  • Co-ordinating safeguarding of plant in preparation for permitted work
  • Field checks on permitted activities during the work to ensure mitigation actions in place as defined by Arla standards
  • Improving the permit to work flow to enhance safety and efficiencies
  • Ownership for the permit system, housekeeping, data analysis and KPI tracking etc.
  • Contractor control, collate data and maintain systems relating to contractor control.
  • Point of contact on site for contractors, making sure they have completed inductions, rams, job methods have been submitted prior to visit. They comply with all site guidelines while on site.
  • Able to support/lead on 3rd party audits to site.
  • Ownership of PTW/LOTO/Contractor compliance role.
  • Training and awareness: stay updated on PTW and LOTO practises and guidelines, attending any training sessions provided by company. Additionally ensure that all workers involved in the maintenance activity are aware of PTW and LOTO requirements and are properly trained to perform their task safely.

  • Previous experience working with PTW /LOTO and contractor control
  • Good knowledge of health and safety, a recognised qualification IOSH/NEBOSH accreditation
  • Good organisation skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks
  • Able to roll out training to others.
  • SAP experience would be desirable
