Full Job Description

As Maintenance Assistant, you will maintain a safe and secure environment for yourself, guests, and colleagues in line with the company's security, operating and environmental policies. As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities, identify maintenance needs and perform repairs or replacements as required.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff, and ensure that all repairs are completed in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as checking HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and fire safety equipment.
  • Ensure that all hotel equipment and systems are in good working order, and report any faults or malfunctions to the maintenance manager.
  • Assist with general cleaning and upkeep of hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, parts used, and repairs completed.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and procedures, and report any hazards or accidents to the maintenance manager.
  • Based in the Mercure Livingston Hotel, you will be part of a team of passionate people who know that being the best doesn't always mean working around the clock.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in hotel maintenance or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and fire safety equipment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks.
