A permanent opportunity has arisen for the Property Department, Estates Division to recruit Maintenance Managers (x2) to be operational within Angus Community (x1), based at Stracathro Hospital and Perth & Kinross (x1), based at Perth Royal Infirmary to assist the Estates Manager(s) to meet the operational and (where required) strategic objectives within NHS Tayside.

Ensure compliance of service within agreed Statutory, Mandatory, Safety, Environmental, Quality Standards, Policies and Procedures.

The post holder shall support the Estates Manager and various senior managers on multi-skilled operational matters and will manage subordinate staff in the provision of cost effective maintenance and minor work services in compliance with statutory, safety, and environmental requirements.

Deputise for the Assistant Estates Manager or Estates Manager as required.

The post holder may be required to work at any NHS Tayside Property as necessary

The main duties will be to install, repair and maintain the healthcare built environment and building services plant and equipment within all properties of the organisation in order that the equipment can carry out its intended purpose safely, and to ensure the smooth operation of the mechanical systems within the organisation.

Participation in an on call rota and the ability to travel between NHS sites are required.

You will be required to achieve the mandatory Inductions standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.

Hours of Work 37 hours per week

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
