NHS Highland Estates Dept. requires a Maintenance Supervisor with an Electrical bias, to be based at Cowal Community Hospital, Dunoon.

Applicants should have an appropriate and relevant trades qualification with significant experience in a maintenance environment.

Familiarity and use of computerised maintenance systems is desirable and a flexible approach essential as is the willingness to travel throughout Argyll & Bute HSCP, including at times, overnight.

The successful candidate will be required to participate on an on-call rota for Cowal Community Hospital, which normally will be 1 week in 7.

A full current driving licence is essential. Starting salary is  £31,892 per annum - 37 hrs per week, rising to £39,735. Payments for on-call sessions are approx. £216.63 per week.

There is currently long-term retention and recruitment premia (RRP) attached of approx. £4,469 per annum (although this is subject to regular review). Annual leave entitlement starts at 27 days, rising to 33 days after 10 years service (+ 8 days public holidays).

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
