Full Job Description

The Maintenance Technician reports to the Facilities Manager and is responsible for providing support to ensure facilities services are provided in an effective and efficient manner. Following a schedule of works maintaining and cleaning the external and internal appearance and functional upkeep of buildings, and locations, completing small repairs (using skills such as joinery, masonry, plumbing, painting) as necessary across the estate working at various locations across Edinburgh, Lothians and Scottish Borders. On-call work is sometimes required, when responding to emergencies.,

  • Under supervision of Facilities Manager carry out maintenance work as required to a high standard maintaining the properties to an acceptable condition across the estate according to schedule
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests
  • Carry out building and premises audits/inspections on a scheduled basis, ensuring any issues are dealt with in a prompt and efficient manner
  • Assisting the Facilities Manager with office moves, pharmacy refits and other general ad hoc projects
  • Undertake any identified education training and compulsory training with the required time frame as directed by the Facilities Manager
  • Understanding of general health and safety duties including risk assessments, contractor monitoring and other statutory and not statutory site requirements
  • Demonstrate permanent high level of security awareness and general Health & Safety

    As this role involves frequent travel a car driver with a full clean license is essential

    Full-Time hours (40) Monday - Friday 9am-6pm with 60 mins unpaid lunch
