Full Job Description

Role: Management Accountant

Permanent - 37.5 hours/week

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

 

Company

TGR (Import & Export) is part of an Edinburgh-based family business. We import goods and supply some of the biggest UK outlets with hardware and tools. Our parent company D F Wishart has a long history in this market and has been trading in the capital since 1857.   


There are currently five companies in the group. Two holding/property companies and three business trading in the DIY and construction industries.


We have offices in Edinburgh, India & China. Warehousing in Denny, Cumbernauld and Edinburgh.


Role

  • Working as part of the head office team, you will report to the Managing Director supporting the business and leading change to ensure that finance processes and controls are in place and are being followed.
  • Responsible for accurate entry and reporting of financial data. Providing analysis and explanation where required.
  • Preparation of monthly accounts (monthly for one company, quarterly for other four).
  • Review and evaluate business processes and internal controls.
  • Make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Play a key role in the implementation of a new group accounting system.
  • Prepare annual budgets, prepare stock and cash forecasts.

 

Required for this role

  • As Management Accountant you will have a strong finance background experience preparing management accounts.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills. 
  • Good understanding of budgeting and audit processes.
  • Proactive approach to improving business processes and controls.
  • A Professional Qualification with industry experience.

Advantageous for this role

  • Experience in a multi-company environment
  • Previous experience with UK imports

The role offers £40k - £50k starting salary, generous annual leave allowance, contributory pension scheme, free parking, and annual bonus based on company performance. 


This role is office based, Monday to Friday. Our office is currently in Leith (EH6) however, we are relocating to Davidsons Mains (EH4) in December.
