Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our Finance team, on a 6 month fixed term basis, based in our Central Support Office in Lasswade. Your role will be to support our Finance Team in financial accounting, monthly management accounts, compliance and annual statutory accounts. You'll also provide analysis and insight to support decision making across the business. Responsibilites

  • Assisting with preparation of monthly financial reporting packs
  • Undertaking month end tasks, such as posting journals, balance sheet analysis and actioning journal corrections where required
  • Encouraging the Finance Analysts to think proactively about continuous improvement of the month end reporting process
  • Supporting the professional development of the Finance Analysts through mentoring
  • Coordinating audit requests during the audit process and acting as a contact for the auditors
  • Preparation, monitoring and reporting of key business and financial controls within the business
  • Monthly reconciliation of more complex balance sheet accounts e.g. stock
  • Monthly review of reconciliations undertaken by Finance Analysts, providing feedback on improvements where required
  • Responsible for the year-end stock take accounting process
  • Involvement in the preparation of annual budgets
  • Coordinating the Finance Analysts to ensure all national statistics reporting is undertaken on a timely and accurate basis
  • Preparation of the quarterly VAT return
  • Supporting the Financial Controller and Group Financial Reporting Senior Manager with corporation tax, VAT and PAYE queries
  • Ad hoc project work as required by the business
