Full Job Description
We are delighted to exclusively partner with Balmoral Estate to fulfill their latest requirement for a Management Accountant.
The Management Accountant will play a key role in supporting the preparation of management and financial accounts, budgets, forecasts, and other reconciliations and analyses as needed. You will also support the Statement of the Resident Factor’s financial responsibilities for Balmoral Estate by ensuring accurate accounting records are maintained and compliant with applicable UK accounting standards.
Key Accountabilities:
- Deliver a first-class service to budget holders and financial information users.
- Ensure timely and accurate production of monthly management accounts, including analysis, commentary, and reporting to the Privy Purse.
- Respond promptly to ad-hoc requests for information from internal departments and external parties.
- Prepare annual reports and financial statements with accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage day-to-day liaison with auditors.
- Prepare accurate forecasts and budgets within established timeframes.
- Produce cash flow forecasts as required.
- Maintain adequate controls over financial transactions to ensure they are promptly and accurately recorded in the accounts. This includes overseeing the accounts package, which encompasses general ledgers, cash books, project ledgers (as applicable), sales ledgers, and purchase ledgers across all entities.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations to ensure proper accounting records are maintained.
- Stay updated on technical developments, ensuring all processes and accounts comply with current regulations.
- Review invoice coding and prepare payment proposals.
- Act as a business partner to budget holders by providing tailored support, advice, and analysis.
- Undertake ad-hoc tasks as required.
Specification:
- Qualifications: Hold a CCAB qualification (or equivalent) with experience in preparing annual financial accounts, month-end reports, and budgets. Previous experience as an auditor or as the subject of an audit is essential.
- Skills and Experience:
- Analytical mindset with strong judgement and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in financial modelling and meeting tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with Open Accounts or similar accounting systems.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel (intermediate level or higher) and report writing.
- Attributes:
