Glasgow - hybrid, 2 days in office

Iconic Resourcing are delighted to be retained by SMS, a growing business operating in the constantly evolving and developing renewable energy sector in their search for a Management Accountant to join the business. 

SMS are a fully integrated energy infrastructure company which owns, installs, and manages carbon reduction (CaRe) assets, including smart meters, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and EV chargepoints.

We are searching for a driven and motivated part-qualified or newly qualified accountant to join the team, working for a fantastic leader who will invest in your development and growth and part of a wider team that can provide support and opportunity. On offer is a competitive salary plus benefits and the opportunity to grow your skillset in a fast-paced, market leading business. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing and delivering the management accounts and associated analysis and reporting
• Providing effective commentary alongside accounts
• Balance sheet reconciliation
• Cash forecasting and longer term budgeting and forecasting
• Involved in the continuous improvement of the finance function
• Business partnering to support various business unit managers and providing data-driven insights to guide decision making
• Supporting in the audit process

Previous Experience

The successful candidate will likely be part-qualified or newly qualified through ICAS, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent accounting certification or be qualified by experience. You will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of an established team. You will have experience in month-end closes. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel is key as is strong communication and business partnering skills.
