Full Job Description

Responsible for the governance and quality of TAQA's Management System, including the production, editing, quality assurance and publishing of controlled management system documents in accordance with the TAQA Management System work processes and procedures., Produce controlled management system documents in line with TAQA Management System format, specification and quality standards.
Edit and update existing documents to ensure compliance with TAQA Management System format, specification and quality standards.
Carry out plain English / Human Factors editing on TMS documents to ensure that they are clear, understandable and appropriate to the target audience.
Carry out quality control editing on the content of all new and updated documents (including spelling, grammar, consistency, structure, sense and technical look-out) in accordance with TAQA Management System processes.
Prepare approved TMS documents for publishing to TMS standards.
Publish approved documents; both online (TMS Bookshelf) and in hard copy (where appropriate).
Communicate controlled document updates to registered Key Users.
Incorporate and publish approved change requests in accordance with the TAQA Management System document management procedure.
Assist Document Owners and users throughout the business to ensure compliance with TMS governance processes.
Update/reproduce technical drawings as required.
Facilitate controlled document periodic reviews.
Maintain records and audit trail of all changes to controlled documentation in line with TAQA Management System processes.

Experience or qualifications in proofreading and copyediting of technical documents.
Experience or qualifications in technical publishing and document management processes.

Preferred

Experience working with Management System documentation for the oil and gas industry.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

Essential

Demonstrable proofreading and copy editing skills.
Advanced Microsoft Word skills (to desktop publishing standard).
Experience in the use of Microsoft Excel and Visio skills to a high standard.
Experience in the use of Adobe Acrobat Pro to a high standard.
Working knowledge of electronic document management systems and data retrieval systems.

Preferred

Experience in the use of SharePoint.
Experience in the use of Adobe Illustrator.
Experience in the use of Adobe InDesign.
Strong background and experience related to technical documentation for the oil and gas industry.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS

A team player with a high degree of self motivation who can work with minimum supervision.
A high-level understanding of governance processes, legislative requirements. and the importance of maintaining audit trails.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain high standards of accuracy.
Strong multi-tasking skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Excellent communication skills at all levels across the business.
Excellent organisational skills.

This position is open to both staff and contractors. If applying via an agency, this will be a contract position, and any internal contractor who applies and is successful will remain with their current contracting company.

Role Duration - 12 month contract.

Compressed Working Week (CWW)

TAQA offers onshore employees and contractors a Compressed Working Week (CWW) in order to help achieve a healthy work-life balance. The CWW is an arrangement where employees and contractors work a standard two-week work period (10 days) over a compressed period of 9 working days i.e., employees contracted to work 37.5 hours per week will work 75 hours over 9 days (instead of 10 days). The 10th day in the second week of the CWW period is known as 'Flex Friday', a non-working day.
