Full Job Description

A well-known main contractor in Central Scotland is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to support their busy pipeline of work. They have a long-standing presence in the Scottish market, spanning both the public and private sectors, and boast a proud history of promoting talent from within.

As Managing QS, you will be responsible for leading commercial aspects of construction projects; ensuring that they are delivered to the highest standard and within budget. You will take commercial responsibility for multiple projects at a time and will manage a team of Quantity Surveyors.

Key duties:
- Preparing and submitting tenders, estimates, and proposals
- Negotiating and managing contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Providing commercial guidance and support to project teams
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
- Monitoring project budgets and financial performance
- Managing and coordinating a team of Quantity Surveyors

To be considered for this role, you will have a commercial background within the construction industry, demonstrable experience at Managing Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager level within a main contracting environment. You will have a working knowledge of construction contracts and procurement, and experience managing and supporting commercial teams.
