Full Job Description

Working within the Manufacturing Engineering team, the role will be focused on process improvement activity with a view to improving throughput, efficiency and reducing waste within all manufacturing processes. The job will involve developing, defining, and handing over processes to relevant stakeholders within Peak to facilitate smooth manufacture and reduction in waste. The role will involve introducing Lean methodologies to improve manufacturing processes and enable a more efficient production environment.

The role will also involve:

  • Developing and improving processes to reduce waste and facilitate growth

  • Monitoring processes to ensure that they are operating effectively and may be achieved by introducing KPIs for the relevant process

  • Working on projects to support improvements to production areas

  • Developing shop floor layouts that will enable Peak to grow within the available floorspace

  • Conducting time & motion studies of operations activities using established and approved methodologies

  • Identifying improvements in manufacturing processes and managing projects to implement process improvements

  • Generating and maintaining data in SAP system (routings, component allocation, process times)

  • Implementing ECN changes stemming from process improvements

    We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer with creative and innovative engineering skills with knowledge of Lean manufacturing techniques, (yellow belt minimum, green belt preferred). You will ideally possess a degree in Mechanical engineering, Production engineering or equivalent qualification, combined with demonstrable experience in a high-mix production environment. The candidate will have proven experience in use of lean principles and techniques which contribute to savings for the business. The candidate will be a self-starter and capable of working collaboratively with other departments to achieve goals., Good communication skills, both verbally and written

  • Proven analytical problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge of improvement techniques and production analysis

  • Knowledge of time & motion measurement techniques (MOST, DOTS)

  • PC literacy with experience of MS Office tools and computerised production control systems

  • A working understanding of ISO 9001 quality management system principles
