Full Job Description

The Manufacturing Manager will oversee all aspects of production at our historic Glasgow facility, with a key focus on maintaining the highest health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards, alongside ensuring exceptional product quality. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for optimizing production processes, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement in operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day production operations, ensuring all products meet strict quality and safety standards.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations across the facility, fostering a safety-first culture.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor best practices in food safety, quality control, and hygiene standards in line with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to drive strategic initiatives focused on operational excellence, process improvement, and waste reduction.
  • Take responsibility for maintaining and improving the quality management system, ensuring full compliance with relevant industry standards, including BRC and other certifications.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimize costs.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure staff are fully versed in HSE protocols and quality standards.
  • Monitor production schedules and resource allocation to meet deadlines and production targets.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to minimize impact on output and product quality.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in production processes.

Key Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in a manufacturing management role, ideally within the food production industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations, with a proven track record of maintaining rigorous safety standards.
  • Expertise in managing high-quality standards in production, including food safety, BRC, and hygiene practices.
  • Proven ability to lead production teams, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth understanding of production processes and operational excellence.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to drive performance and promote a positive working environment.
