Full Job Description

We are currently seeking a Marketing Coordinator to join BBC Scotland. With the mission of delivering value to audiences in Scotland, our broadcast, digital and social channels play a vital role in reaching and retaining new audiences and we're constantly responding to market changes in creative and strategic ways.

BBC Scotland's portfolio of content spans video and audio with a wide range of genres including drama, comedy, factual, entertainment, sport and news. We work across BBC One Scotland, BBC Scotland, BBC Radio Scotland, Scotland Homepage, iPlayer and Sounds planning, creating and scheduling promotional content in support of our commissioned titles and marketing campaigns. Recent titles include Granite Harbour, Dead Man Running, Dinosaur and The Agency: Unfiltered.
This role reports into the Media Portfolio Manager and works closely with the Media Scheduler to deliver innovative, creative and audience focussed campaigns. Ensuring all campaign assets are planned and delivered within tight deadlines and suitable for the targeted audience.,

  • Support the marketing, media and creative teams to ensure campaigns are delivered on-time and accurately labelled.

  • Work with the Media Scheduler on the day to day planning and delivery of outstanding marketing assets for TV, radio, digital and online campaigns.

  • Establish great working relationships with the wider BBC teams (including presentation, playout, media planning and marketing) locally and across the UK to ensure that content is scheduled effectively and reaches the target audiences.

  • Ensure all marketing and communications is correctly complied (approved by correct stakeholders and in-line with BBC brand and editorial guidelines).

    This is an exciting, fast moving environment which requires an organised and proactive Marketing Coordinator with a genuine passion for broadcasting and meeting audience's needs.


  • Demonstrate a good understanding of a range of marketing and media techniques

  • Experience in managing a high volume of campaign assets for different platforms and ensuring that they deliver to the planned media strategy

  • A proven track record of project management skills, including multitasking, prioritising, managing budgets and ensuring resources are used efficiently

  • Strong administration, IT, and problem solving skills including document and delivery management, planning and organising (Excel, PowerPoint, Google sheets, Teams etc)

  • Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders and teams across the BBC, and identifying when to escalate.

  • Experience in a broadcasting environment would be advantageous.

    Salary: £25-28,000 pa depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
