Full Job Description
Reporting to the Head of Marketing for BBC World Service, the post holder is required to run media planning and paid media and digital content marketing campaigns to drive awareness of language services, trial of new digital content and brand equity among audiences., You'll deliver innovative and engaging marketing campaigns - with an emphasis on digital - which make people sit up and take notice. You will have paid social experience across multiple platforms. Duties include identifying market trends, planning campaigns, setting the KPIs and metrics and using web analytic tools to analyse the performance of marketing campaigns. The post holder will develop excellent working relationships with the Editorial teams, to ensure marketing best supports their Editorial plans and priorities. Keeping a close eye on the News as it breaks, they will need to identify and manage tactical, reactive activity alongside strategic delivery plans. They will also work very closely with colleagues in the wider marketing and business development community including trade and consumer marketing in Global News Limited to ensure consistency in strategic and creative approach. People who have enthusiasm for all things digital and keen to understand the role Marketing plays across BBC journalism around the world.Main Responsibilities Campaign Delivery
- Develop campaign briefs to deliver against strategic objectives (consumption, perception, brand) across multiple media and platforms.
- Assist the Marketing Manager and Head of Marketing in working upstream with stakeholders, shaping content/genres/programmes or products.
- Lead the delivery of effective and impactful creative work that reflects brand guidelines.
- Ensure campaigns are delivered within budgets and timeframes.
- Work with internal creative teams (pictures/radio cross trails), Social Media, Communications, Audiences & external agencies.
- Ensure all marketing and communications activity is correctly complied (reflecting BBC Brand guidelines) and is in line with BBC Editorial Guidelines. Strategy and Planning
- Help shape the evaluation process: contribute to regular reviews with colleagues and stakeholders to review core campaign output.
- Help manage the budget for the channel/genre/product campaigns and ensure campaigns are delivered within budgets and timeframes.
- Support the planning process and execute activities within marketing plans for specific campaigns based on campaign briefs and media strategies.
- Work closely with multiple BBC stakeholders to deliver projects with their full support.
- Contribute to regular reviews with managers and stakeholders to review campaign output vs brand guidelines.
- Manage and mitigate risks and issues; escalating as appropriate. Leadership, Relationships and Development
- Help support and develop marketing co-ordinator(s); and deputise for marketing manager if required.
- Establish great working relationships with Audiences, Social Media, Communications & Media Engagement teams.
- Keep ahead of developments in the field of marketing and technology/digital trends, maintaining links with the industry and incorporating into marketing plans where possible. General
- Drive efficiency and effectiveness in everything the BBC delivers to provide value for money for BBC licence fee payers
- Comply with all relevant BBC safety rules, procedures and guidelines, and be aware of responsibilities under the BBC safety policy

The successful individuals will have a good understanding of the broadcast industry or a similar brand-facing or entertainment business; this will be coupled with experience of delivering complex multi-media campaigns from the briefing stage onwards. In addition, you will have experience in, and a natural affinity for, digital marketing and social media. In this context they will need to demonstrate knowledge and successful experience of: - Experience in a digital marketing or advertising role
- Delivering multi-media marketing campaigns from brief to evaluation
- Working experience with website analytics, social media platforms and digital advertising best practices
- Working with in-house and third party creative resources
- Budget and project management; efficient use of resources
- Driving collaboration across organisational boundaries
- Managing critical stakeholder relationships
- Analytical approach, able to critically evaluate ideas and information
- Effective written and verbal communication, with good presentation skills
- Able to embrace change, and make improvements to working practices
- A successful leader, able to manage self, lead campaigns and campaign teams within a complex matrix environment
- Passion for and a good understanding of the BBC
- Ability to meet and set targets and deadlines whilst managing a wide range of concurrent activities. Desirable

- Understanding of BBC Brands, knowledge of the broadcasting industry and a demonstrable interest in its output
