Full Job Description


We are looking for a commercially experienced Marketing Manager to work within our Community Interest Company and its associated SCIOs and projects to proactively drive sales through brand and event marketing, promotions and offers.

You will join a successful and growing business to support delivery of strategies and techniques to achieve sales targets, map potential customers and generate sales leads, opportunities, and revenue for the organisation.


About Us

Silver Stag CIC works to address poverty both in Scotland and partner countries. To do this we have a variety of commercial projects to generate surplus to aid our mission. These include; food and chocolate production where we use products from our partner in Ghana to deliver award winning jams, snacks and chocolate to vocational training, property management and maintenance, producing gift boxes, Scottish gifts and candles and running a highly successful commercial cookery school.


As the above shows we are looking for someone who can manage a wide variety of tasks across the different businesses to proactively drive sales, event marketing, promotions and offers through the different brands. We have recently completed a rebrand for one of the businesses and we are now in a very good position to take this to the next level. The task is huge and the staff team is small in relation to the challenges however the opportunities to make an impact on lives both here in Scotland and the wider international community is almost unwieldy. As part of the senior Management team the post allows for considerable autonomy whilst maintaining accountability.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan, implement and deliver successful targeted marketing and advertising campaigns across all channels to ensure that target audience numbers and income levels are achieved.
  • Develop and manage a rolling content calendar, coordinating content creation across channels.
  • Analyse data and identify key behaviours and trends in customer activity to maximise sales opportunities and improve customer retention.
  • Blog: Produce, optimise, and review blog content.
  • Monitor key performance indicators to track the success of marketing campaigns and incorporate your findings into future campaigns for better results.            
  • Maintenance of the promotional aspects of the websites, ensuring that all online information is accurate, relevant, timely and effective and improve web user experience and SEO.
  • To develop the company’s membership scheme, reviewing the offering to members and increase the number of members.
  • To develop relationships with major employers in the public and private sectors, offering incentives to their workforces and to devise specific promotional activity to promote and sustain such schemes.
  • To constantly review promotional offers to the CIC’s customer database to ensure that they are effective and attractive.
  • To devise specific action plans relating to special events.
  • To work with individual project managers to ensure publicity and devise local strategies to boost sales and attendance.
  • Lead our newsletter, content creation, distribution, and performance analysis
  • Case Studies: Create and distribute impactful case studies.
  • Production of key print materials such as leaflets, trade packs and labels, including writing copy, editing, liaison with designers, printers and distribution agencies.
  • To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the marketing plan and specific marketing campaigns and initiatives. To deal with all aspects of the effective marketing of the different business streams across the organisation
  • Plan and execute email marketing campaigns, optimising for engagement and conversion.
  • To act as a brand champion, ensuring consistent messaging across all areas of the business.
  • Attend events, fairs, shows etc to represent the Company, if required

  • Revenue Growth & Client Retention: Develop strategies that drive client acquisition and loyalty.
  • Brand Awareness: Elevate our brand visibility in key markets
  • Engagement & Conversion: Implement tactics that boost prospect engagement and conversion rates.
  • ROI Optimization: Continuously analyse and improve the efficiency of marketing spend.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Essential: the successful candidate will meet the majority of these requirements.


Experience

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Proven track record of developing a marketing plan and managing marketing campaigns to deliver key, income and other targets
  • Ability to proactively drive sales through brand and event marketing, promotions and offers

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong planning and organisational skills including excellent attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage external partners efforts to the next level.
  • Good knowledge of a broad range of social media channels - including but not limited to - Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube
  • Excellent copywriting skills
  • Competency using MS Office software and Website CRS systems.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

  • Proven experience in demand generation and digital marketing.
  • Proficient in using marketing automation tools (experience with HubSpot is preferred).
  • Strong content creation and project management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in measuring marketing performance.
  • Prior experience in a similar business development / sales / account management role is beneficial., Strong work ethic and organisational skills - ability to work and engage multiple stakeholders (internal/external) to meet deadlines.
