Full Job Description
This specific role of the Material Scheduler is to ensure we always have materials available in line with our production plans for the Leven site. The Material Scheduler ensures dry goods components are available at appropriate production area in line with production plan, taking into account storage capacity constraints and vehicle unloading capacity constraints,
- Ensure components are on site to cover production line requirements.
- Arrange timed deliveries of components into site in line with Stores Areas unloading matrices - ensure Stores Teams know what is coming in and when.
- Monitor component demand v stock for imminent weeks 1-3 plan and ensure demand does not move into fixed production plan if comps not availabl.
- Brand Change activity - component rundowns/ introduction of new components.
- Management of non-BOM sundry comp ordering.
- Balance cost of smaller volume ad-hoc makes against cost of planned campaign builds.
- Minimise dry goods write-offs on brand change projects by careful management of component use-ups.
- Awareness of financial implications of missing customer orders against cost of positioning/holding stock.
- Cost of commercial storage if unable to contain all dry goods stock on site.
- The site operates 7 days per week on a multi shift pattern, servicing a variety of global markets with premium products.
- Supports other team members and able to adopt flexible approach to cover other categories.
- Key relationships are with external suppliers, procurement, logistics providers, line schedulers and various operational teams on site.
- Management of supplier performance via SNCR process.
Computer literate - Proficient in mainframe material management systems, Microsoft packages and internet applications. - Demonstrates variety of communication skills.
- High degree of numerical proficiency and attention to detail.
- Problem solving and issue resolution.
- Ability to work on own initiative and proactive decision maker.
