Full Job Description

Murphy is currently recruiting for an Materials Coordinator to join our award-winning Energy team on the National Gas, St Fergus project. Our team is known for its extensive in-house expertise and continual drive to innovate within the industry. The Material Coordinator will ensure a high level and consistent approach to all specialist materials management, proactive stock, quality assurance, specification compliance, are achieved on all projects. The Material Coordinator role will be split between office and hands on issuing materials to the shop floor in a timely fashion and offloading, storing material receipts. Following the 'One Murphy' approach, we're able to deliver all aspects of the projects we work on. Murphy has designed, constructed, and commissioned projects for clients including National Grid, Cadent Gas, OPA, SGN, National Grid Ventures, on both transmission and distribution networks. Our projects include Compressor stations, Natural Gas and LNG Terminals, AGI's, pipelines and diversions. What you will be doing:

  • Ensure a high level and consistent approach to all specialist materials management, proactive stock, quality assurance, specification compliance, are achieved on all project's
  • Raising Material Requisitions in accordance with the Designers' MTOs and relevant data sheets (Reviewed by Senior or above)
  • Maintaining liaison with the Senior Materials Co-ordinator and project PM relating to all aspects of ordering materials, manufacturing status and deliveries to site
  • To work closely with Fabrication supervisors to ensure programmes and met and material issues are dealt with in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure the SWS/PTS project controls are complete such as review drawings and completing isometric material issue to fall in line with production schedule
  • Liaising with the works supervisor to ensure all materials are available for production and if any identified martials shortage or supply issue they are flagged appropriately as to best ensure progress
  • Continually review of procedure materials against their specification
  • During busy periods there will be additional personnel employed to aid and the person will need to provide supervision to ensure all activities are covered.
  • Establishing and maintaining a listing of all permanent materials in accordance with purchase orders / requisitions (Material Schedule).
  • Maintain certification records and liaise with projects and engineers as required

    Oil and Gas experience
  • Knowledge of the wider organisation and how it functions within the external environment.
  • Able to develop positive working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • First aid qualification is desirable.
  • Excellent Excel skills
