Murray Recruitment are recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer for our client based in Eurocentral, Lanarkshire.

The successful candidate will play a key role in designing mechanical systems, producing technical drawings, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare fabrication, layout, schematic, assembly, and sub-assembly drawings with bill of materials.
• Undertake project-based mechanical design and detailing of machined components, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drive systems.
• Perform mechanical design calculations and analysis.
• Create 2D drawings using AutoCAD and 3D models using SolidWorks.
• Ensure engineering schedules for design and detailing work are met.
• Participate in internal design review meetings and customer meetings.
• Respond to queries from manufacturing, customers, and suppliers regarding engineering drawings.
• Assist in preparing operation and maintenance manuals.
• Travel within the UK and internationally as required.

Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within an engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical parameters and engineering formulas for design calculations.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Mathcad.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations, industry best practices, and performance standards.
• Ability to work across multiple disciplines within project teams.
• Proficient in MS Office with strong time management and organisational skills.
• Willingness to travel to customer and supplier sites in the UK and worldwide.
• A Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is desirable.
