Mechanical Fitter

Brightwork's client is currently recruiting a skilled and experienced Mechanical Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining machinery and equipment. The role requires proficiency in mechanical systems, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring quality standards are met. The Mechanical Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our client's production processes.

Please note this role will be 4 days on 4 days off then rotate to nightshift. 

Responsibilities

Assemble and install machinery and mechanical components according to engineering drawings and specifications.

Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication, cleaning, and inspection of machinery to ensure optimal performance.

Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs as necessary to minimize downtime.

Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems and implement effective solutions.

Test machinery and equipment to ensure proper functioning and adherence to safety standards.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment condition.

Participate in equipment upgrades and modifications to improve efficiency and performance.

Experience

Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter/Technician or similar role in an industrial setting.

Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills, including the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.

Proficiency in using hand and power tools commonly used in mechanical assembly and repair.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently.

Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
