Job Description

To undertake servicing, maintenance and repair of both fossil fuel and zero emission cars, vans, buses and large goods vehicles (LGVs) as well as plant and other ancillary equipment for example refuse collection and winter maintenance equipment as required across a wide range of planned, re-active and emergency requirements to defined timescales and deadlines. To assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of the Council’s key objectives; specifically in relation to the Community Plan, Shared Commitments, Single Outcome Agreement and Best Value.

Requirements

We follow the national guidance in relation to pre-employment checks namely “Safer Recruitment Through Better Recruitment”.  With regards to requests for references and in line with this guidance, during your application process you should provide details of a minimum of two appropriate and relevant references, one of which should be from your current or most recent employer.  It is also a requirement that the reference from your current or most recent employer is from an appropriate senior manager and it is not a reference from a former peer operating at the same level.

The Individual

This is a temporary full time 37 hour per week post with a base at the Transport Services Unit, Main Road, Crookedholm, working dayshift and backshift.

Shifts:

Week 1 Monday 7.00am - 4.45pm & Tuesday - Thursday 12.15pm - 10.00pm

Week 2 Tuesday - Friday 7.00am - 4.45pm

Annual Salary £33,728 - £36,652 + 10% shift allowance and tool allowance
