We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated and flexible Medical Secretary to join a team of six Medical Secretaries providing support to the Consultant Oncologists, Locum Consultant Oncologists and clinicians based in the Macmillan Suite, Raigmore Hospital.
You should have proven experience with working in an office background, possess excellent communication, organisational and problem solving skills. You should be a competent audio typist with Oncology knowledge an advantage, but not essential.
The candidate must have the ability to work within a team environment as well as individually and will be required to act on their own initiative when dealing with day to day issues. It is essential that candidates are experienced and competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel and other internal NHS Systems such as PMS and Digital Dictation
The ability to work well under pressure and the flexible approach to the needs of the department are essential.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
