Medical Technical Officer Mechanical

NHS Forth Valley Medical Physics Department is seeking a competent, experienced and enthusiastic technician engineer to support existing staff in delivering a comprehensive equipment management service to hospitals within NHS Forth Valley.

The current service is delivered across all of NHS Forth Valley from the medical Physics Department based in the new Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

You will be part of a team providing an equipment management service to N.H.S Forth Valley. This post is primarily concerned with providing a planned maintenance and repair service to mechanical medical equipment throughout NHS Forth Valley. This includes but not limited to equipment such as patient trolleys, beds, portering chairs, patient hoists, weighing scales, medical regulators and suction equipment. The post holder shall also assist the clinical technologists in the servicing of equipment located within GP surgeries throughout Forth Valley.

The department operates a registered Quality Management System to BSI ISO9001:2015 and it is expected that the post holder will undertake duties associated with the quality system.

An asset management database is used to manage the equipment and the post holder will be expected to use this system.

Qualifications Good general education with a recognised qualification beyond Scottish Highers in a Physical/Engineering Science with some Technical experience working in a relevant environment.

Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
