We are delighted to be working on behalf of a world leading manufacturer to recruit a Mix Mill Operative to join their team in Livingston on a permanent basis

This is a great opportunity to join an experienced and progressive department.

  • Salary: Start salary 27,398.31. Increase after probation passed to 30,579.46.
  • Hours of Work: Candidate will work the two-shift pattern - 6am to 6pm days (Mon-Wed 6am to 6pm, Thursday 6am to 2.00pm / 6pm - 6am nights (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday night).
  • Immediate start!
  • Full training will be provided.

Main Duties Include

  • The main duties of this role are preparing mixes for coating machines
  • Operate all / most of the Mixmill machinery, to ensure formulations is made to the required specifications, updating as required. Ensure mixes are manufactured to the coating volume & quality requirements on time, increasing productivity & improvements in quality.
  • Achieve high performance in terms of throughput & quality from the production equipment & processes of the factory which you support by the storage, supply & movement of material
  • Reporting near misses, spills / incident & accidents according to Company Policy & legal requirements to the Team Leader, Production manager or Health & Safety manager / representatives.
  • Ensure material & work is monitored as required for quality & carrying out the required quality inspections, reporting & tests. Highlighting any raw materials that are not to specification.
  • Support production processes, maintain production support at shift end by ensuring the preparation of materials to meet continuous production. Monitor stock levels ensuring adequate supplies are available to meet production demand.

The ideal candidate.

  • Must have high attention to detail, ability to follow recipes, calculating ratio's for mixes, ability to colour match.
  • Ideally someone with similar experience in print industry, and / or manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication and inter departmental skills
  • Should be capable of working as part of a production line team.
  • Will understand the need to be flexible regarding job tasks, be open and willing to assist where required.
