Join Our Team as a Modern Apprentice in Data Analytics
Annex 21:
As a trainee your pay is determined as a percentage of pay for qualified staff, in accordance with Annex 21 of the Agenda for Change terms and conditions so you will be paid 70% of the salary in year 1 and 75% in year 2.
Key Details:
Location: Kirklands, NHSL Headquarters, Bothwell.
Duration: Fixed term post for 18 months from 8th of January 2025. Part-time hours available with pro-rata salary.
Eligibility: Applicants must be aged between 16 to 24 years old on 1st of December 2024 (or up to 29 years for applicants with a disability or those that are care- experienced*) and should be able to demonstrate that they can work to SCQF level 7 (HNC).
What we offer:
Training: This could be an excellent opportunity for you to gain on-the-job training that will support you in developing a range of skills, whilst gaining experience in the application of date definitions, information standards and polices.
Qualification: You will be required to work towards a Level 8 SCQF qualification in Data Analytics which will lead to a relevant nationally recognised qualification.
What we are looking for:
Motivated Individuals: Highly motivated and committed individuals eager to join our Modern Apprenticeship Programme.
Skills: Strong communication, positive approach to work, basic knowledge of IT systems, along with the ability to understand various procedures and processes.
Interest: A particular interest data analytics, coupled with a positive attitude towards work and professional development.
Duties as an Information Assistant may include:
Assisting in the developing of report construction, dashboard maintenance and information distribution
Assisting with the development of business and clinical services through the analysis of activity, performance and quality
indicators
Assisting in the development and implementation of existing and new NHS Lanarkshire systems
Manipulating data files using a variety of software packages in preparation for further analysis
No Prior Experience Necessary - This Apprenticeship welcomes applicants with limited work experience, including school leavers.

From 1 April 2024, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37.5 to 37 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.
NHS Lanarkshire will implement this change but it may not be possible to fully transition from 1 April and there may therefore be some areas of the organisation where implementation may take longer. If the department is currently unable to safely accommodate the reduced hours from 1st April, you may be required to work 37.5 hours per week until the department can meet the requirements without impacting patient safety - you will, of course, be remunerated accordingly. NHS Lanarkshire is committed to full implementation of the 37 hour working week across all areas as soon as it is safe to do so.
