What you ll need to be successful The ideal candidate will be used to working independently as well as part of a team and be able to demonstrate experience of managing a challenging workload in a busy environment to meet deadlines. The postholder will be the volunteering team lead on a people driven, strategic and cross-organisational approach to learning and development for both our volunteers and volunteer line managers. This role ensures that VSS volunteers and the staff who manage and support them have the skills and knowledge they need to carry out their roles. Acting as a source of expertise, the postholder will be up to date with current theories and practice relating to learning and development. They will drive forward key programmes such as a review of our learning and development offer for volunteers, contribute to the delivery of VSS current volunteer learning and development programme and advise and support colleagues and stakeholders around learning. Alongside these responsibilities, the postholder will work closely with other members of the volunteering team on shared ongoing responsibilities within the team. These include the delivery of our volunteering strategy, the recruitment and induction of volunteers, and supporting the onboarding and offboarding of volunteers. The service is free, confidential and is provided by trained volunteers through a network of community based victim services and court based witness services.
