Salary: £29,992.20 - £33,021.70 per annum
Contract Duration: Permanent

Role Purpose

Scottish Borders Council is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced person to work primarily within the Roads Team, as part of the Infrastructure & Environment Service. This post is permanent. The successful applicant will play a vital role in assisting with the maintenance of the Councils Infrastructure Assets, primarily roads, drainage, footways, cattlegrids, barriers and signs. This will typically involve using and providing technical expertise to deliver reactive, routine and cyclic works relating to these assets. The role also involves dealing with insurance claims and identifying priorities for works on roads assets within the Berwickshire Area. This is to fulfil the Council’s statutory obligations and to meet the needs of the Council, Elected Members and the general public.

Essential

SVQ level 3 qualification in relevant roads related discipline or willing to obtain within 2years.

SMSTS accreditation or willing to achieve within 2years.

A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability. Should it be possible to make such an adjustment in order that you can undertake the travel responsibilities of the post, this will be taken into account in consideration for this role.
