Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this position is 7.5 Hours.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Team Leader to join the Neonatal Community Liaison Team at The Royal Hospital for Children. We will provide 7 day service for babies who are discharged home following their journey in the neonatal unit.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Leading a team to facilitate safe, streamlined and timely discharges to home team from the neonatal unit.
  • The provision of the highest quality of neonatal nursing/midwifery care in accordance with the philosophy and policies outlined by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and will uphold the core values of NHS GGC.
  • Leading and developing a skilled flexible team to promote a progressive and innovative attitude toward continual improvement of patient and family integrated care.
  • They, and their team, will work daily with the ward manager to liaise with multi-agency partners to facilitate appropriate referral and support for families.

The post-holder will provide professional advice and leadership to managers and clinicians, both locally and across the operational network enabling them to adopt a systematic approach to the delivery of safe, effective, evidence based neonatal care.

Requirements/Skills:

  • You must be an experienced Registered Nurse/Midwife with a qualification in neonatal specialty.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to organise and prioritise workload are essential.
