LOTHIAN UNSCHEDULED CARE OUT OF HOURS SERVICE (LUCS)

Permanent Appointment Clinical Nurse Manager

(Band 8a)

An exciting opportunity has arisen in respect of the position of Clinical Nurse Manager within LUCS.

Working with and as part of a friendly, experienced, and dedicated administrative support team, this post is responsible, as a member of the Senior Management Team for supporting the Clinical Service Manager in the operational and performance management of the OOH nursing service.

Specifically, the postholder has operational responsibility for providing clinical, managerial, and professional leadership in the running of the service and is accountable for the delivery and standards of care provided to patients, to ensure safe effective person-centred care.

The post holder also has corporate and clinical governance accountabilities, ensuring safe, efficient, and effective care, compatible with professional and national clinical standards. This includes assuming responsibility for HAI and HEI compliance within areas of responsibility.

Responsible for the development and implementation of operational strategies, designed to achieve local objectives in line with National targets.

This is an excellent development opportunity for someone looking to enhance their skills and experience regarding the influencing and implementation of the future nurse service strategy for LUCS.

This is a full-time post, and is based in the Blackford Pavilion, Astley Ainsley Hospital. The post holders working week will also incorporate clinical shifts during the out of hours period including an on-call commitment.
