Clinical Technologist Associate Practitioner

Department of Medical Physics, Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

Permanent, Full Time (37 hrs/wk)

Salary Scale: Band 4

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a position within the Radiation Protection and Imaging Physics section [RPIP] of Medical Physics at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.  The section provides scientific and technical support to a range of clinical services within NHS Lothian & NHS Fife. 

You should be qualified to SCQF level 8 in a physics or engineering discipline, and experience of medical equipment and fault finding is desirable.  An equivalent qualification [e.g. HND] supported by relevant technical experience and knowledge may be considered.

We are looking for candidates who are able to bring a friendly and positive approach to work effectively within a team. Good communication and organisational skills are also essential to ensure the day-to-day running of the service.

The section has a track record of developing staff to enhance career opportunities, with a clear focus on quality and patient services. You will join an enthusiastic multidisciplinary team and be trained to support a range of clinical technical work related to ionising and non-ionising imaging equipment.  There is also a requirement to maintain accurate records using a variety of software tools and at times work across various clinical sites with the Lothian area.
