Personal Assistant for Blood Sciences Management Team (Band 4)

This is an opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to work in NHS Lothian, Department of Laboratory Medicine, Blood Science Laboratories. This post will support the Blood Science Management Team and Biochemistry Consultant staff based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

The Blood Science laboratory team are looking for an enthusiastic permanent full-time person to join the team and provide day-to-day support for all laboratory activities.   This will involve working with both NHS Lothian systems (such as PECOS, SSTS) as well as Laboratory specific systems to ensure that the Laboratory continues to provide the exceptional service that it is known for.  The role will be wide and varied with IT and organisational skills essential. In addition to supporting laboratory related activities the post-holder will act as a Personal Assistant to Laboratory Medical Consultant staff. This will involve managing outpatient clinic related admin duties, managing patient databases and dealing with patient telephone queries.

Working hours are 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday, 37 hours per week but there can be some flexibility within this for start/finish times to suit as required.
