Full Job Description

As a Telephonist on our Raigmore Hospital digital switchboard, you will deal with a high volume of calls providing first line communication to colleagues and the general public. Presenting a helpful and polite manner to both internal and external callers, whilst maintaining the high quality and service standards required.
Previous telecoms experience would be beneficial, however, all training will be provided.
You will ensure that our callers receive a prompt efficient service, and carry out the expectations of laid down procedures covering: Emergencies, alarm activation and out of hours on-call staff.
You must have the ability to work as part of a team and as a responsible individual, follow instructions and possess good communication skills.
Hours of work are 18.6 per week working week 1 - Monday and Tuesday 23.30pm - 7am and week 2 Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 23.30pm -7am

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
