Renewables and Construction Solicitor NQ-3yrs PQE

Location: Edinburgh

Position: Solicitor - Renewables and Construction, Hybrid / Permanent

Experience: 0-3 Years PQE

Job Overview: Iconic Resourcing is thrilled to present an outstanding opportunity for a motivated Solicitor to join a leading law firm's Edinburgh office. This position is ideal for a solicitor with 0-3 years post-qualification experience (PQE) who is eager to specialise in both non-contentious construction and renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Construction Contracts: Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating construction contracts, subcontractor agreements, consultant appointments, and other legal documents.
  • Renewable Energy Projects: Advise on commercial contracts related to renewable energy projects, including grid issues and operation and maintenance contracts.
  • Legal Research: Conduct legal research to stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
  • Project Support: Support the delivery of major transactions and innovative projects.
  • Client Liaison: Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring excellent client service.
  • Technology Integration: Embrace the firm’s investment in technology to enhance the delivery of legal services.

Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will be passionate about renewable energy and ready to advance their career. They should demonstrate a willingness to learn, an interest in the renewables and construction sectors, and a commitment to business development activities.

Training and Development: Prior relevant legal expertise is not necessarily required as comprehensive training will be provided. The successful candidate will work closely with two experienced partners, offering the support and opportunity to develop key legal and commercial skills within a flexible working environment.

Team Expertise: The team is part of a wider corporate department and a cross-departmental energy sector group. They advise a diverse range of clients, including investors, developers, sponsors, and public sector bodies, on projects spanning wind energy, solar, hydrogen, education, housing, transport, and more. This role offers the chance to build relationships with various clients, from renewable energy developers to local authorities, universities, contractors, and beyond.
