Full Job Description

We have a position for a Band 5 Dietitian to work in our community services in Aberdeenshire. This is a great opportunity for a new graduate to gain experience and consolidate their knowledge across a range of different areas, including nutritional support, adult weight management, gastroenterology, tube feeding, diabetes and paediatrics. This post will provide an excellent grounding for progressing your career.  We deliver community services within a number of settings including out patient clinics, care homes, community hospitals and domicillary visits across Aberdeenshire.

You will be working in a supportive, friendly team of dietitians, health care support workers and administrative staff, but also with other members of the   multi-disciplinary team, including other Allied Health Care Professionals, medical and nursing staff. We are actively engaged in the use of technology to   deliver care wherever possible.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, an ability to work in partnership with others, a desire to improve services to meet patient needs.

We have well established links with dietitians across all sectors in Grampian and work together to provide excellent CPD opportunities for all of our staff, particularly around clinical effectiveness, quality improvement, patient safety and patient centeredness.  We foster a supportive working environment and encourage staff to develop and share their learning and experiences.

The department participates in undergraduate student training, taking dietetic students for their B & C placement as well as training to other staff groups across the partnership. This role will allow you to develop and grow your confidence and skills in delivering presentations and training to others.

UK driving license and access to a car is necessary. Please note Aberdeen has a Low Emission Zone in and around the city centre where our office base is.

This post may be suitable for hybrid working with time both in the office and home working.

Interviews are scheduled to take place on 8th October 2024.

We would encourage informal enquiries about this position before applying to discuss the role.  Please feel free to email Ailsa Wildgoose Ailsa.Wildgoose@nhs.scot to arrange a suitable time to discuss.
