Nurse Band 5 Inpatient Mental Health - CAMHS Inpatient Services

The shift pattern is 12 hour shift rotation over 24/7.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at our National Child Inpatient Unit in the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow. Ward 4 is a 6-bed Tier 4 CAMHS ward for children aged 5-12 years, providing assessment and clinical interventions to young people experiencing a range of complex mental health difficulties. Both full-time and part time posts are available. The successful applicant will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse, or Registered Learning Disability Nurse, preferably with experience of working in an inpatient setting and working with young people and their families. Although experience working with young people is preferable, its more important that you have a positive attitude,are conscientious, caring, considerate, compassionate, keen to learn, and able to work towards maintaining a high standard of nursing care to the patients we support. You will work within a large multidisciplinary team, and play a key role in supporting young people in their recovery.

The post-holder will be responsible for:

• the assessment
• care-planning
• implementation
• and evaluation of nursing care programmes using a strength-based, recovery-focused approach that proactively involves the young person.

The post holder is required to be able to undertake duties without direct supervision, working in partnership with patients, carers and other professionals/agencies in line with legislative frameworks, agreed standards and clinical policies. The successful candidate is required to demonstrate flexibility by working within a dynamic and evolving service.
