Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

This is a fixed term position of 6 months

The shift pattern for this position is 0830-1630, 2 days per week within Monday Friday

 (Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.

This post is based within Gartnavel Royal Hospital Inpatient Mental Health Older Peoples service. The post is part time, 0.4 whole time equivalent.

The post holder:

  • Delivers occupational therapy assessment,
  • Effective person centred interventions
  • Evaluation of the effectiveness of treatment.
  • Experience of using standardised assessments and outcome measures is desirable.

The post holder has responsibility for the supervision of occupational therapy support staff and students. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with the wider multidisciplinary team, relatives, carers and partner organisations is essential to this post. Under the direction of the Senior Occupational Therapist, the post holder will contribute to the development of the occupational therapy service.

The service provides regular supervision and opportunities for continuous professional development. The successful candidate will be part of a well- established occupational therapy service which focuses on evidence based practice and effective multidisciplinary team working.
