Full Job Description

Do you have the skills to work in a busy inpatient rehabilitation setting? Would you like the opportunity to be a part of a supportive team with development opportunities? If so, please read on.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Assistant Practitioner to join our occupational therapy team within Cameron Hospital. The main role of this post will be assessing and delivering rehabilitation to the 3 wards within Cameron.

Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team you will be expected to assess and carry out ongoing treatment programmes and joint treatments with the Occupational Therapy staff. You will have good organisational skills, excellent communication skills and be able to work independently as well as within the team.

You will HND in health related subject/SCQF level 8 or SVQ 3/HNC plus evidence of experience working within health and/or social care and managing a delegated caseload. Experience of working as an Occupational Therapy support work would be desirable. It would also be desirable to have experience working with older people and stroke patients. Our service offers regular supervision, PDP and supports training opportunities.
You may be required to work across Fife, therefore the ability to travel is essential

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  Your offer/contract of employment will therefore reflect the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your Hiring Manager.
