Full Job Description
Anderson Knight is delighted to be retained to appoint an Experienced Operations Manager. Our client are a leading manufacturer of colour and additive concentrates for the plastics and allied industries. This role will be reporting directly to the Managing Director and will be based at our clients manufacturing facilities based in Glasgow.
You will be a highly driven, motivated team player with previous operational and management experience.
The ideal candidate will be accountable for managing all aspects of the operation including production, maintenance and warehouse, as well as undertaking tasks relating to health & safety, environmental and quality. This is a hands-on role leading, coaching and mentoring the team to drive the business forward to improve all aspects of safety and environmental performance, product and process quality, manufacturing costs, customer service levels and people performance.
• Ensure a high standard of safety exists across all aspects of the site.
• Create an effective manufacturing structure.
• Improve manufacturing systems through hands-on leadership to increase plant efficiency.
• Manage production resources effectively to meet both the day to day needs of the business and the future strategic business plan.
• Defining performance management KPI’s to monitor operational success against objectives.
• Establishing a culture of continuous business improvement.
• Have in place improvement plans / projects to improve efficiencies, output, customer service and waste reduction.
• Set expectations for operations team and provide performance feedback.
• Staying up to date with technological changes within the industry.
• Commercial awareness with an eye for seeing business improvement opportunities.
• Highly motivated with a passion for driving operational business change.
This is a full-time permanent position, working Monday to Friday with occasional weekends as and when required by the business.
