Orthoptist Advanced (Paediatric Lead) Band 7 - 1 post 29.7hours

An opportunity has arisen to join the NHS Tayside Orthoptic Department as a Band 7 Advanced Paediatric Orthoptist. Within Paediatric Ophthalmology you will work alongside the Orthoptists, Paediatric Ophthalmologist and Optometrists as part of the Paediatric Ophthalmology Team. As part of this role you will provide advanced Orthoptic led paediatric clinics, including JIA screening. You will have a lead role within the functional vision assessment team for children with visual impairment alongside Paediatricians and our Education colleagues. You will also participate in general Orthoptic services within NHS Tayside with a mix of adult and paediatric patients at various clinical locations throughout Tayside.

We are looking for an individual with a wide range of Orthoptic experience with excellent communication and organisational skills who will integrate into the team. In house training for the advanced practice role will be given and the successful candidate will be supported to complete masters level qualifications within paediatric ophthalmology. We promote team working and collaboration across all roles and recognise the valuable contribution a good skill mix can make to delivering the best quality service and improving patient care.

A diploma/degree in Orthoptics with significant postgraduate experience and current HCPC registration are essential for this role.
