JOB TITLE: Painter & Decorator                           

REPORTING LINE: Hard Services Technical Manager     

DEPARTMENT: Facilities & Maintenance

LOCATIONS: Ibrox Stadium           

CONTRACT: Full Time, Permanent  

 

THE ROLE

 

As a key member of the facilities department our painter and decorator will deliver high quality, painting and decorating works in line with cyclical maintenance schedules and project timelines while being flexible to the reactive demands of the business. 

 

A focus on ensuring the highest standards of finishes is always achieved and the built environment creates exceptional end user experiences.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Carry out a wide range of decoration and building fabric repair
  • Undertakes planned maintenance and reactive works as required
  • Work within the guidance of risk assessments and method statements
  • Carry out fabric inspections weekly
  • Assist with calculating the materials needed for a project
  • Keep track of all stock materials to ensure waste is minimised
  • Assisting with colour selection and wall covering finishes
  • Reading specifications to determine required materials
  • Building and installing access equipment e.g. towers
  • Ensure all dust sheets/poly are kept in good condition and areas are always protected from paint/dust
  • Fully preparing and cleaning of all surfaces as required
  • Ames Taping
  • Repairing cracks, holes, and defects on surfaces
  • Removing old paint or wallpaper by sanding or scraping, or by using heat guns, liquid paint removers or steam strippers
  • Mixing and thinning paint as required
  • Measuring, cutting, and applying all types of wallpaper or fabric to walls
  • Applying all paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes
  • Using brushes, rollers, and spraying equipment
  • Ensure all tools, materials, storage are always kept in best condition

 

THE CANDIDATE

 

The candidate attributes include:

  • The successful applicant must be a fully time-served decorator with 5 years minimum experience
  • Qualified and recognised by professional body CITB/EITB Painter craft apprenticeship eg City & Guilds
  • Proficient in all aspects of painting and decorating including paint application, wallpaper hanging, preparation techniques and finishing work both internally and externally
  • Spraying experience is desirable but not essential
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • IPAF & PASMA desirable but not essential
  • Able to use own initiative and good problem solving skills
  • The successful candidate must have a full driving licence
