Dundee Law Centre are ardent promoters of access to justice across the city of Dundee. Our aim is to ensure everyone in Dundee facing social welfare challenges and inequality understands their legal rights and has access to professional legal services. We strive to tackle poverty and help people to exercise their legal rights. We are dedicated to improving the quality of life of people by representation through the legal process. Our paralegal will work alongside community-based advice agencies providing them with legal support to assist their clients. Our services are very much in demand, and we are expanding our team as a result. The paralegal will be responsible for assisting and managing a varied caseload to meet the Law Centre s contractual and performance targets. Responsibilities: Paralegal experience in a busy environment is desirable. Excellent verbal communication skills to effectively translate complex concepts into everyday language for non-experts. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to arrive at the best possible solutions for cases. The ability to prioritise work is essential. Ability to work efficiently and effectively and to meet deadlines. Demonstrate clear understanding of working with vulnerable and complex clients. Meeting with clients to gather information and explain legal matters. Researching and interpreting complex questions on social welfare law. Drafting legal documents and standard forms. Skills: The ability to drive to community outreach locations to deliver legal advice sessions. Working knowledge of Microsoft systems, i.e., Word and Outlook. Advanced working with client management systems. Strong listening skills to accurately gauge the opinions and requirements of stakeholders. Excellent negotiation skills to secure the best possible outcomes for clients. Good organisational skills to deal with a heavy workload and multiple simultaneous cases., None specified
